The delegation was led by Professor Liu Huawen, Director of the CASS Institute of International Law. Other participants included Professor Dai Ruijun; Associate Professors Liu Zhixin and Yu Jianan; and Assistant Professors Lin Xiaoxiao and Li Man. Several members of the delegation have previously been visiting scholars at the NCHR and taken part in the Centre’s cooperation projects with Chinese universities.
The morning session was hosted by the Thematic Group on Nordic–China Law and Society. In the afternoon, the programme continued at Domus Juridica, with opening remarks by NCHR Director Gentian Zyberi and Rita Sandberg, Director of the International Department.
The academic exchanges addressed equality and women’s rights, national human rights action plans, and corporate responsibility for human rights under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). The programme also included presentations on the Norwegian Transparency Act.
Exploring future academic cooperation
Following the thematic discussions, CASS and NCHR co-moderated a strategy session on opportunities for future academic cooperation between the CASS Institute of Law and NCHR.
The programme concluded with an official reception hosted by NCHR. Professor Marianne Jenum Hotvedt, Dean of the Faculty of Law, delivered the welcoming remarks. Representatives from the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), as well as other Chinese universities visiting Oslo in connection with the Euro-Sino Forum on Human Rights Education, also attended the reception.
