Teaching and exams autumn semester 2020

The ongoing corona situation will also affect the autumn semester 2020.

Updated October 2020.

Exams

All exams at the Faculty of Law will be conducted as home exams in the autumn of 2020. The decision is based on an overall assessment of the COVID19 situation, especially in Oslo, as well as the concern for the predictability for students.

This means:

  • Exam dates are unchanged.
  • Exam start- and end times are unchanged.
  • No changes are made to exams that are already planned as home exams.
  • There are no postponed exams for courses that are offered every semester.
  • Exams with letter grades (A-F) retain these. Exams with pass/fail grades retain these.

Access to reading halls and buildings

The faculty buildings will reopen for students on 3 August 2020. The reopening is possible only under the condition that we all comply with infection control rules. Measures will be put in place. Amongst other things, reading halls and auditoriums will have reduced capacity. Reading hall seats are available with online seat reservation.

As of now, some buildings at the Blindern Campus are partially open for students, and a limited number of seats are available with reservations.

Teaching

As of today, it is planned that all lectures will be carried out digitally for the autumn semester 2020.

On some courses, it is planned that seminars can be carried out with physical attendance. The large auditoriums must be used for such seminars, and hence the capacity for courses with physical attendance is limited. Other courses will be carried out digitally.

Again, please note that changes may occur, decisions are made with regards to current guidelines and restrictions from authorities.

The semester web page for your course will be updated if changes occur, and the schedule will have information about the type of teaching.
