Background
Born in 1973, Cand. jur. in 2000.
Irgens-Jensen obtained his PhD on the legal protection of confidential information in 2008. He has worked at the Department of Private Law since July 2014. He previously worked as a solicitor at the law firm Thommessen, one of Norway's largest law firms.
Both as an academic and as a practicing lawyer, Irgens-Jensen has primarily focused on the fields of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Unfair Competition Law, and Contract Law. He has published extensively in these areas. As a solicitor, he was heavily involved in patent litigation and worked closely with lawyers and patent attorneys from other countries. He is an experienced lecturer, both at the university and in various continuing education courses for lawyers.
Irgens-Jensen is the editor of the renowned textbook on Norwegian law "Knophs oversikt over Norges Rett" and the journal Oslo Law Review.
He serves as the chair of the Norwegian Copyright Society and has held various positions related to innovation efforts and IPR policies at the University of Oslo.
