About the Course

The course is introductory and inter-disciplinary. It aims to provide participants with an understanding of international human rights norms, as well as the systems for protecting these at international, regional and national level. It mainly targets professionals who have a job relevant to human rights.

Many past lecturers have been leading researchers within their fields. Even so, the main strength in this course lies in the participants. The course will prioritize group work and facilitating for shared learning and exchange. All participants will be expected to read preparatory literature, which will be distributed in advance.

The program for 2025 is under development. The 2023 program can be found here.

Update: We are now closed for applications.

We received a record number of applications (4,758), compared to 88 applications last time the course was held. It will take some time to assess all the applications, and we do not know how long, but everyone who has applied will receive a response as soon as possible.

Selection criteria

  • Job relevance: To what extent the knowledge gained from the course may be useful in your current job, to you and to others
