Aleksander F. Taule is a PhD candidate at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law. He is a part of the insurance law project at the Institute. 

Teaching

Aleksander teaches Formuerett I (JUS3112), Formuerett II (JUS3213), Moot Court (JUS5040), Maritime Law: Liability and Insurance (JUS5402), Forsikringsrett (JUS5420), Marine Insurance (JUS5450), and is a master thesis supervisor (JUS5030). 

Background and experience

Associate and senior associate in Wikborg Rein (2017-2022). A part of the Shipping Offshore dispute resolution department. Experience with dispute resolution before both the ordinary courts and arbitral tribunals. Worked especially with global limitation proceedings, marine insurance disputes, construction all risk insurance disputes, ship building disputes, drilling rig disputes, international private law and civil procedure.  

  • 2021 - present: Co-author of Karnov's commentaries to the Norwegian Maritime Code. 
  • 2017 - 2022: Associate and senior associate, Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS (Oslo). 
  • 2018/2019 - present: Seminar tutor and external examiner in Contract Law, University of Bergen.
  • 2016 - 2017: Editor, Norwegian University Law Review.
