Human Rights Education

Human Rights Education is a right in and of itself, and a precondition for the advancement and protection of human rights. NCHR’s work aims at enabling state actors, academia and civil society to promote human rights in line with the UN human rights conventions, through support to human rights education.

What we do

  • We work on human rights education in several countries, with a particular focus on countries where academic freedom is under pressure and where access to research and human rights education is limited at the university level.

  • We support academics, students and researchers to access knowledge and resources on human rights

  • We organise trainings on the UN mechanisms in Geneva, targeting important, academic voices in the human rights field

  • We develop and translate quality assured publications on human rights, and make them more universally available

  • We contribute to international networking through academic exchanges with the NCHR

  • We support teaching and research on gender and women’s rights in China

  • We support teaching, research and publication on human rights and peace in our partner countries
