Thematic group on law and economics

The aim of the thematic group is to develop law and economics as a field of research at the faculty. The group is a forum for legal professionals and economists to discuss research and practice.

About the group

The group consists of both legal professionals and economists and serves as a forum where research meets practice. Internationally, law and economics is a major field of research that affects many areas of society, including patent protection, crime and punishment, the environment and the management of natural resources, tax law, contract law, the conduct of legal disputes, and more. At the faculty, current research in law and economics includes competition law, property law, contract law, management of natural resources, and public procurement law.

Several members of the group are key contributors to the annual international conference in law and economics, the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) conference.

The purpose of the group

The research group aims to develop and stimulate new research in law and economics at the faculty, particularly in the areas of tax law, patent law, and environmental law.
