"Law Making and Law Enforcement in China"

Professor Cheng Jie, doctor of constitutional law from Tsinghua University in Beijing, is currently a guest researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Human Rights.

Building a legal system in China is an undertaking which faces many challenges. Difficulties include clarifying the confusion over who has the authority to make laws and regulations and how to solve conflicts of jurisdiction.

Professor Cheng looks at these problems as a constitutional lawyer interested in how to attain fair legal institutions in China.
