The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights – with UiO Faculty of Law’s Sustainable Development and Human Rights research group, and Social Science and Law Forum, and the Norwegian Institute of Urban and Regional Research at Oslo Met, and the Norwegian Latin America Research Network, invite you to this public lecture by former UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing.
On the 27th and 28th of March, Prof. Liesbeth Enneking (Erasmus School of Law), Martijn Scheltema (Erasmus School of Law) and Jeroen Veldman (Cass Business School, London) will organize a workshop that brings together experts (academics, policymakers, practitioners and NGOs) to provide a comprehensive view on the Dutch legal and policy framework with regard to sustainable trade and development.
Shifting investment from fossil-fueled, unsustainable projects to renewables-based and sustainable business is crucial to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The huge investment gap under the Paris Agreement and even larger under the SDGs, highlights the unsustainability of the business as usual and the path-dependency of current financial decision-making.
