Bakgrunn

Anne Hellum er født i 1952. Hun er cand.jur. ved Universitetet i Oslo 1981, mellomfagstillegg i sosialantropologi ved Universitetet i Oslo i 1985 og dr.juris ved Universitetet i Oslo i 1998 med avhandling Women's Human Rights and Legal Pluralism. Professor ved Institutt for offentlig rett i 2000. Ansatt ved Institutt for offentlig rett siden 1987.

Hun er gjesteprofessor ved the Southern and Eastern African Center in Women’s Law at the University of Zimbabwe (SEARCWL). Hellum er ansvarlig lærer i kvinnerett, diskriminerings og likestillingsertt og women’s law and human rights og faglærer i rettsosiologi. Hun er leder for Avdeling for kvinnerett, barnerett, likestillings- og diskrimineringsrett (KVIBALD).

Hellum er redaktør av Kvinnerettslig skriftserie og medredaktør av det internasjonale tidsskriftet Global Journal of Law and Social Justice. Hun er medlem Juridisk rådgivning for kvinners (JURK) styre og av the Advisory Board to the President of the Max Planck Society.
